So I'm a first time buyer and I'm looking into getting a 9mm as a CCW, I'm looking into the Springfields and the FNH FNS-9. Thoughts, ideas, suggestions?

I carry the Springfield XD Mod2 and I love it. I use a Alien Gear IWB holster also. Works very well for me and is also very accurate.

I carry a springfield xds45 and it's an easy carry, they make same in 9mm as well. Easiest carry I've ever owned was a sig p938, hardly knew I was carrying it. If you want a great shooting gun get an FN. It's a full size unless you can find the new compact they just came out with but FN is quality and I'd take one any day over springfield or glock. JMO.

Hello L.Vern,

A 9mm in either of those two brands will do just fine, if you have the training to go with it.

The gun and your equipment are important, but not nearly as important as the training.

Over the years I have had to carry many different types of firearms, and without a doubt the most important asset I had in my arsenal was the training I had received.

If you are serous about concealed carry, the training team at Davenport Guns would be happy to get you started down the path of skill at arms.

Of course Davenport Guns offers the standard state mandated training, but they also offer combative firearms training opportunities on a regular basis, hosted by Pulse O2DA certified Combative Firearms Instructors (CFIs).

If you are interested, please check out this link which gives you an overview of some of the training now available here in the QC.
